Institute (YEDI) At the World Diversity and Accessibility Association (WDAA), creating an equal environment for people of all abilities has always been at the heart of what we do. Our recent partnership with York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) brought this mission to life in a practical, impactful way. YEDI helps entrepreneurs grow through its world-class academic and business programs. The Institute decided to elevate its accessibility level, and we were ready to help them take that crucial step.
YEDI’s work revolves around the belief that entrepreneurship should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or ability. Recognizing the importance of this commitment, they partnered with WDAA to ensure that their physical facilities were as inclusive as possible. A Comprehensive Accessibility Review Our collaboration began with an in-depth accessibility review covering all aspects of YEDI's physical spaces. We delved into every detail that could impact accessibility. This included not just the obvious elements like the presence of ramps and elevators but also subtler aspects such as the placement and readability of directional signage, the usability of bathrooms, and the width of doorways. In educational spaces, these details significantly influence how accessible and welcoming an environment is for people with varying abilities.

In the end, WDAA provided a comprehensive improvement plan to enhance their accessibility.
