Real Words from Real People

Thank you so much for your lessons and ideas presented to our Grade Six class.

It was great for them to have such exposure to a visually impaired adult and to learn the etiquette to approaching and helping a person with limits in their vision.

The speakers were kind and had good hands on materials. They were honest and kind about all questions (Including can you drive?)

We would like to thank the World Diversity and Accessibility Association for their engaging and informative presentation at our school. Our Grade 4 students learned a great deal about individuals who are blind or have low vision.

They especially enjoyed the hands-on activities, including trying braille, simulation glasses, and using a white cane. After the session, many students shared what they had learned about inclusivity and how to respectfully support someone with low vision.

Our students have been exploring accessible spaces, especially play areas, and this workshop was a valuable opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of how to support others and consider diverse perspectives in our community.

Since then, they’ve noticed accessibility features and discussed potential barriers throughout their school day — while walking in the halls, riding buses, or joining clubs. The program’s positive impact is already clear, and we look forward to its lasting benefits.

I was put into contact with the WDAA through my school administration as I have a student with vision impairment who will likely progress in his condition as he ages. Ben and his colleague Feder joined our class for a morning session where we learned about many challenges people with low or no vision experience daily.

The students were curious and interested in learning about Ben’s experiences and were excited to explore the accessible materials available for them to touch and discover.

What if the world was built for everyone?

For over a billion people, it isn’t. Every day, both seen and unseen barriers limit opportunities, independence, and connection.

At WDAA, we’re here to change that. We’re creating a world where accessibility isn’t an afterthought but a given, where inclusion is the standard, not the exception.

Who changes the World of Accessibility

Imagine a world where over a billion people face obstacles every day that limit their opportunities. People with disabilities still encounter social and physical barriers that prevent them from fully participating in society.

Educational Programs
and Awareness

We target both the education of younger generations and courses that enhance existing services and interactions, focusing on inclusivity. Our children's programs teach the importance of diversity and accessibility from an early age. For organizations, we provide professional development tailored for management and employees to foster inclusive workplaces.

Employment Programs

We develop programs that facilitate job placement for individuals with disabilities, focusing on creating inclusive work environments. We collaborate with employers to support the hiring and retention of diverse talent, ensuring that workplaces are welcoming and accessible.

Public Space Accessibility

Our initiatives involve participating in projects that adapt public spaces —such as parks, streets, and buildings—to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. By making these spaces more accessible and user-friendly, we enhance community engagement and ensure that everyone can enjoy public amenities.
